1. The tool
Copyright © 2026 Neil Matouka. All rights reserved. The Climateshed Action application, its source code, interface, and its compilation and parameterization of response coefficients are proprietary and confidential. Except as expressly permitted here or in a separate written agreement, you may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service.
2. License to use the Service
Subject to the Terms of Service, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own planning, educational, and research purposes.
3. Your scenario outputs
You own the specific scenario configurations you create. You may use, share, and publish the files you export from the Service (CSV and .mnote notebooks) for your own non-commercial or internal planning purposes, provided that you:
- Attribute the estimates to “Climateshed Action” and retain the citations and methods reference embedded in the export;
- Do not present the outputs as an official government inventory, determination, or guidance; and
- Do not remove or obscure source attributions for the underlying public data.
Redistribution or resale of gated jurisdiction data, or of the coefficient compilation itself, is not permitted without written authorization.
4. Underlying public data
Baselines and effects are derived from publicly available sources, including the CA GHG Inventory (USCP v1.2) and the ARB/Salon VMT Impact Tool. Those datasets remain the property of their respective sources and are subject to their own terms; nothing here grants you rights in them beyond what those sources provide. Always cite the primary source, as reflected in the methods document.
5. Open-source components
The Service is built with third-party open-source software (including Next.js and React) used under their respective licenses. Exported notebooks are intended to run with the open-source marimo runtime, which is licensed separately by its authors. Those components remain under their own licenses.
6. Trademarks
“Climateshed” and related branding are our marks. This license does not grant any right to use them, except to provide the attribution described in Section 3.
7. No warranty
The Service and all exports are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. See the Terms of Service and Disclaimer.
